It's begining to look a lot like Livestock Show Season
Well I guess it is time to getting ready for livestock show season and was thinking that I really needed to come up with some new ideas for the kids to eat. So the other night I found a chicken and stuffing crock pot meal that I thought we might try. 1 can of Cream of chicken soup ~ 1 small tub of Sour Cream ~ 3/4 cup of water ~ 1 box of stovetop stuffing and mix all of that in the bottom of the crock pot then layer the chicken breast on top and cook on high for 4 hours. YUMMY!!!! it was a hit. So I am sure that will make the list. Not only is it livestock showing season at Oldenburg Farms but it is breeding season as well. I feel like the feed bill has jumped astronomically and it does not matter where I turn there are sheep every where. (insert scary music here) Since breaking my leg in May, no thanks to JaLeigh's yearling SHOW ram, I very cautious about letting any sheep get too close to me. So I look like a big chicken walking into the pens with a feed bucket in one hand and a rake with a broken handle in the other, swinging it like a mad woman. Never thought I would be like that but being laid up for 3 months is not my idea of fun so I will continue to be that mad woman until I am a bit more comfortable with the leg.
The kids started back to school last week and I officially feel OLD!!!!! We have a Sophomore, 5th grader and 3rd grader. This means basketball 4 nights a week for the next 7 years. They are growing up so fast. Before we know it Callen will be taller then both of us and Lincoln will be soon to follow. All 3 kids will be showing now and I think I am going to have to take on more jobs to afford this little hobby we have going on. Oh will I would rather work hard now and give them work ethic and responsibility then have to bail them out of jail later.
