In love with the brown paper bag

I have been wanting to redo the floors in my sun room and finally jumped off and did it and I am so glad I did.  I didn't want to spend a lot of money doing it so I chose to go with the brown paper bag method.  It took

1 gallon of Elmer's Glue $11.00 from Walmart.com
1 roll brown craft paper $14.00 from Walmart.com only used about 1/4 of the roll
1 pint of Minwax stain Mahogany 255 $8.00
1 gallon of water based Polyurethane floor grade $54.00

I mixed equal parts water to glue to lay the paper.  I started out dunking the paper (bad idea) it made the paper too saturated to smooth without tearing.  I started putting the glue mix on the floor then putting the crumpled paper on the floor and smoothing it.  Then more glue mix on the top of the bag.  It drys pretty fast but make sure it is dry before you stain.

Staining was easy.  Make sure you use the wool roller, smear and roll.  DRY FOR A FULL 12 HOURS.  I made the mistake of being an over achiever and left foot prints that you can't get off.

I Polyurathaned the floor with 3 coats.  For a high traffic floor I would recommend more.  I just didn't want to spend anymore money on this floor.

Best part of the floor is that 007 loves it and I did it myself.
