High protein snacks for my show girl and boys.

Today I am going to cover the snacks that are a staple for every show we go to.  My people love, love, love sausage balls.  I like to make them in large quantities because people are always coming by to look at sheep or have a conversation about the breeding program and they go fast.

This only requires 3 ingredients:

Great Value Taco Blend Cheese (has a little taco season mixed in)   Bisquick  (love this stuff)
Blue & Gold Sausage.  For those you not from                     Oklahoma this is a product that our 4-H and FFA kids sell                   for a fundraiser, made in Jones Oklahoma.

Thaw 5 lbs of your favorite sausage
Mix 3 cups of Bisquick
Add 4 large hand fulls of cheese

I mix and squish this around until it sticks together and then form into small balls and place in the over at 350 degrees and cook for about 30 minutes.

I like to put them in some type of Tupperware, I prefer Glad because it doesn't break when frozen.  I will layer them with paper towels in between to catch any grease and stick them in the freezer until time to head to the show.  When we get to the show they are usually thawed and my kids eat them at barn temperature.  Depending on the show we sometimes pack the small microwave and you can pop them in if you like them pipping hot.

Now don't get me wrong, we always have home made cookies, compliments of my mother-in-law, however, before the kids start showing they are in the sausage balls because they just last longer on the fuel your body chart and I don't worry about them getting hungry in the middle of the show.

Stay tuned for Packing For The Show coming soon
